Impact 2010 - Love in Action | Faith in Action (Summer): Ireland
The purpose of Impact 2010 is to share the Gospel message with people who do not know Jesus, confident that the Gospel will make an impact on their lives.
Impact 2010 will involve Christians from around the world working together with local churches for two weeks to share and demonstrate the love of Jesus. We hope to make an impact through a programme of evangelistic and bridge-building events and activities. Our desire is to see a lasting impact in the lives of individuals, churches and communities through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Through Impact 2010 we aim to:
• Introduce Irish people to Jesus by sharing the Gospel message widely and creatively especially among children and young people
• Inspire Irish believers to live for Christ.
• Encourage and support Irish churches in evangelism
• Help participants to grow in their love for God and their confidence in sharing the Gospel.

Ministry Details
The programme starts with three days of training and orientation at Lacken House, OM Ireland's headquarters.
This will include: Bible teaching; worship; prayer; introduction to culture and the essentials in communicating Jesus; and workshops to give you practical skills for the week to follow. Participants will then head out in teams across Ireland working with local believers to share the Gospel and demonstrate God's love in action.
In previous years we have run the following and we expect to be doing similar ministries this year: children’s clubs, cleaning litter on estates, street theatre, leaflet distribution, musical opportunities, visiting the elderly, gardening, sporting activities with youth.
As in previous years, we will be using our Big Red Bus - however, not all participants will be working with the bus.

Participant Profile
We are looking for people who are passionate about Jesus and want to share the Gospel. Team members will need to be flexible and willing to try new things.
A good level of English is required as all training and outreach activities will be in English.
We accept married couples and will do our best to accommodate them together but they may have separate sleeping accommodation.
Accommodation: For the orientation conference you will be at Lacken House. We provide beds/mattresses for all during this time but all participants should bring a sleeping bag and pillow if desired. During the outreach local churches are arranging accommodation: some in homes and others in church halls so it advisable to bring an air mattress. If you have any particular need/requirement for alternative provision, contact gc@ie.om.org
Food: OM and the local churches you work with will ensure that you are fed during the programme. During the orientation all will be fed at Lacken House. During the outreach week local churches will organise food. In some cases church will provide & prepare food, in other cases they provide food & you will prepare. If you are a vegetarian or have any special dietary needs, make sure you inform us before you come. This is possible by emailing gc@ie.om.org
Travel: Please fly into Dublin airport in the morning of Tuesday 29 June (before 2pm - as close to 10am as possible) where we will meet you and take you to Lacken House. Please book your departure flight for the afternoon/evening of Tuesday 13 July - we will provide transport to Dublin Airport.
How to find us: Meeting Instructions at Dublin Airport: Once you have collected your bags, leave through customs. Once through the double-doors, turn left, and look for the OM Ireland sign outside the Tourist Information Shop.
Health: Please contact your local office if you have any health concerns.
Visa: EEA and Swiss nationals do not need a visa to enter Ireland for any reason. If you are not an EEA/Swiss national, you can visit Ireland for a period of three months without having to register with the immigration authorities, however some nationalities will require a visa before they leave their country of residence. Back to the Cross – Impact Ireland 2009 (1-Aug-2009) “Back to the cross” was more than a theme for the 50 people who took part in OM Ireland’s “Impact Ireland” outreach this summer. The message of the cross made an impact in the lives of participants from 11 different nations as well as the dozens of children, young people and adults they met in Ireland.
At the Last Minute (28-Apr-2009) OM Ireland, in partnership with SportsLink and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, hosted its first golf camp. After being told a week before the camp was to start that they couldn't play at the club, God provided abundantly more than they could have imagined, and forty-seven campers heard the Gospel.
Connect Conference Draws Teens in Ireland (25-Feb-2009) Over 120 teens gathered for OM Ireland’s youth event, “Connect” in Kilkenny from 20 – 22 February. The event aimed to help teens connect with God through teaching and worship, connect with other teens through fun interaction, and connect their faith with the real world. Connect is also a TeenStreet reunion from TeenStreet Germany that took place in August, and an opportunity to empower and invest in young people.
Sharing the real meaning of Christmas (20-Jan-2009) OM Ireland's Big Red Bus team shared the real meaning of Christmas in schools and churches through their Christmas show.
A picture of transformation (29-Feb-2008) A remarkable story which came to a climax on February 23 this year when OM Ireland took possession of the deeds to Lacken House as their new headquarters and ministry centre.
Teens go beyond (18-Feb-2008) Three hundred teenagers and their leaders gathered for OM Ireland's "Beyond 48" weekend.
Generous schoolchildren show love (21-Nov-2007) Over 3,200 gifts have been donated by generous Irish schoolchildren to hundreds of the poorest children in Eastern Europe.

Brian Watkins (22-Jun-2007) Welshman Brian Watkins served with the literature arm of OM between 1972-1977 moving to Dublin then and running OM’s memorable bookshop “Merrion Press” on D’Olier Street (1980-1988).
Denis and Gisela Coonan (22-Jun-2007) Denis and Gisela Coonan are thankful for the help they received from OM teams serving in Ireland. Today they pastor "Word of Life" church in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
Graeme Wylie (22-Jun-2007) Graeme and Frances Wylie caught the vision for church planting while serving with OM in France. In 1980 they moved to Galway planting a church and helping to develop a family of churches in Ireland.

Liz Tully-Rothwell (22-Jun-2007) Liz Tully-Rothwell joined OM full time in 1988 and returned to Ireland in 1997 to care for her elderly mother.
Mickey and Kathleen Walker (22-Jun-2007) Mickey and Kathleen Walker arrived in arrived in Ireland in September 1984. They had been planning to begin work in Sri Lanka but ten days before moving there received a telex warning of escalating violence.
Sam and Vreni Lindsay (22-Jun-2007) Sam Lindsay worked with George Verwer's team in Europe before returning to Ireland with his family in 1976.
Sarah Brady (nee Dowling) (22-Jun-2007) Sarah Brady (nee Dowling) spent two years on Logos 2 after saying she would never be a part of George Verwer's organization. She assisted OM in a church plant in Tramore, Co. Waterford, Ireland
Sean and Ana Mullan (22-Jun-2007) Sean and Ana Mullan met on the Doulos and got married in 1984. They settled to do ministery work in Ireland, recruiting OM teams to work in different parts of the island.
