Transform 2010 Portugal - Algarve: Portugal
Transform2010 (www.transform.om.org) is a unified effort around the Mediterranean to create momentum for the gospel by mobilising people and training them in telling their personal God story. We want to reach people in the beach areas and public gardens in this touristic area of Portugal through creative street ministry with music, sports and games. We also want to support youth/children camps.
In partnership with a local camping, the team will be involved in the program and activities in the camping, creating evangelism opportunities in the camping activities context, also together with the local churches and other organizations working in that particular area of the country. Considering the high number of people there in this holiday season, we would have enormous opportunities to make an impact. Building on last year's experience with the Festival É FISH, we want to cooperate again and make this project an integral part of Festival É FISH 2010.

[ back ]Stories from Portugal
Fátima - a place for freedom and forgiveness (20-May-2009) OM Portugal was able to share the freedom and forgiveness that can be found in Jesus Christ with many pilgrims in Fátima in May. We gave out around 1000 bottles of waters and 3000 pieces of literature.
Care for the Pilgrims (8-May-2007) Once again a small team will show love and care to pilgrims visiting Fatima in Portugal this week. Every year thousands of people travel to the site where three shepherd children described the appearance of the Virgin Mary in the early 20th Century. Desperate for healing or forgiveness, the pilgrims hope that their visit to the shrine will bring about the answer to their prayers.
Ecological Experience (11-Apr-2006) A group of teenagers and their leaders are taking part in an unusual Teens In Mission experience in Portugal. The youngsters are staying at an ecological camp in the Algarve where they will help to carry out survey's of plants, animals and birds in this arid part of Portugal. "We will also attend lectures on the delicate balance of life in the area, study what the Bible says about caring for our environment and also enjoy some very Portuguese Easter food," said Ruth Spain from OM Portugal.
