Our purpose is to proclaim the Gospel to people from an Orthodox background that probably have never heard how to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We will be involved in church planting activities in the town of Corabia, in the extreme south of Romania. Together with local church members we want to connect with people and preach the Gospel in an area where less than 1 % of the population are born again believers.
Available for: Singles Couples Groups
A significant part of this outreach will be prayer, proclaiming Jesus' victory over the surrounding occultism, Godlessness, broken relationships, adultery, violence and ancestor worship. We will do home visits, sharing the Gospel with people who might be interested in hearing more about Jesus. As well, we will try to connect to the youth, and find further opportunities to build God's Kingdom in this difficult place. We will be a small team, the number of international participants is limited.
You should have a heart for the lost, without fear of a spiritual battle, and enthusiastic about sharing the Gospel with whoever we will have the chance to meet. All participants should be physically fit, able to cope with irregular meal schedules. Participants will need to be team players with a teachable heart and a willingness to submit and grow. Being flexible, forgiving, encouraging, and having a good sense of humor is essential. Ministry in Romania is constantly changing, and volunteers must be able to adapt.
We will probably stay in the house of local believers. Please ensure you have your own sleeping bag and air mattress. Toilet facilities may be very basic and shower facilities may be primitive and/or limited. There may not be laundry facilities.
We will provide the meals in partnership with the local church and may have a rotating "kitchen help" schedule for you to be involved in.
Please arrange your travel to and from airport Henry Coanda, Otopeni/Bucuresti, airport code OTP. If you arrive before 12:30 pm, OM will pick you up there and arrange your ongoing travel. Please note that it may be necessary to wait at the airport for other international team members.
If you are not able to arrive at these times, please don't buy a ticket until there is an agreement with your OM office. Also for departure, please ensure your flight time is not before 2 pm.
